The Mediterranean Phytopathological Union
The Mediterranean Phytopathological Union (MPU) is a regional non profit organization that aims to advance and disseminate knowledge on phytopathology, food safety and closely related fields relevant to the agro-ecological regions of the Mediterranean, and to establish and promote networking among researchers from scientific societies/associations, academia and research, and other stakeholders.
The Union represents national societies and associations of plant pathologists based in the Mediterranean region.
Additionally, MPU works with other scientific organizations and institutions to raise public awareness of the field of plant pathology and push for increases in agricultural research funding.
It also offers scientific advice on public policy concerns to policy makers and agency staff. MPU is affiliated to the International Society for Plant Pathology (ISPP).
